Hi I'm Matt Cheok
If you don’t know my story, in 2020 I resigned from my corporate law job in Sydney to pursue a dream career as a travel photographer and videographer.
Without a clear plan in sight, I took a leap of faith and booked a one-way ticket overseas. Two years later, I’ve had the opportunity to climb volcanoes in Mexico, share horse milk with Kyrgyz locals in Central Asia, hitchhiked across the giant steppe of Kazakhstan and worked aboard several expedition ship charters to Antarctica, Svalbard and most recently, Greenland.
IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.
My interest in photography began with an ending, after my grandpa passed away in 2014. He left behind an old box of camera gear, film cameras, and a trusty Nikon D80, which I took on a six-month trip to South America. Ever since then I’ve been hooked! And now, whenever I press down the shutter, I’m reminded of him. I take a part of him with me wherever I go.
