Do Not Disturb

Gold Harbour is usually a sensory overload that's loud, chaotic, and packed with thousands of animals. I caught this elephant seal during a rare moment of absolute quiet in October at the very beginning of the season. He was tucked so deeply into the meltwater I almost mistook him for a rock, had it not been for the occasional burp that gave him away.
