Good Morning from St Andrews

St Andrews Bay is home to the largest King Penguin colony on South Georgia, and seeing it at sunrise is a sensory experience you never forget. It is an absolute wall of sound from the trumpeting of hundreds of thousands of birds and a smell that is just as intense.

I caught these two right as the first light hit the peaks. It was one of those special mornings where the scale of the colony fades into the background for a second, and you just focus on the gold light catching their plumage.
