Jason Harbour

Jason Harbour offers a different kind of history compared to the busy wildlife beaches. This old hut stands as a weathered relic of the island's sealing and whaling past, tucked away among the golden tussock grass. I love the contrast of the rusted corrugated iron against the soft morning light and the jagged peaks in the distance. 

It is a sobering reminder of the people who once tried to make a living in this unforgiving environment and the devastating toll those industries took on the pinnipeds that lived here.
