The Colony

The scale of St Andrews Bay is hard to put into words until you see the rivers of King Penguins moving across the landscape. In the early morning light, the colony is a melting pot of activity with birds constantly moving between the mountains and the sea. This shot captures that morning flow as thousands of penguins begin their trek across the glacial meltwater.
